The first locomotive of the DD17 Class to have been withdrawn from service was 1048 in November 1966, and the last being 1046 in October 1969.
Four DD17 type locomotives survive today, numbers 1046, 1047, 1049 (all three owned by Zig Zag Tourist Railway in Lithgow) and 1051 which has been restored to running order by Queensland Railways.
1051 was the last of twelve DD17 locomotives (running numbers 949-954 and 1046-1051) built at Ipswich Workshops.
For the majority of their working life, these locomotives were based at Mayne. |
